Location
Ustroń lies at 340-450 m above sea level, at the foot of the Beskid Śląski range, in the upper Vistula river valley, 25 km from the river's source, between wooded mountain ridges. The spa is well-ventilated and has a warm climate with large precipitation. Thanks to its beneficial bioclimatic conditions, beautiful landscapes, mineral springs and therapeutic-mud deposits, Ustroń has been an important holiday and spa centre since the late 19th century. A special holiday district was established in the Jaszowiec stream valley, and a sanatorium district in Zawodzie.

Attractions and cultural events
The town has an entertainment hall and an amphitheatre in Zdrojowy Park, three museums, including the Museum of Metallurgy and Forging, and a Gallery of Modern Art. Regular events include Ustroń Artistic Summer (June), Gaude Fest Religious Art Festival (July), Ustroń Days (August). It is worth visiting the wooden church from 1769, the Baroque church from 1787, and original 19th-century highlander cottages.
Tourism and sports
outdoor pool, tennis court, ski-lifts, chair-lift, summer toboggan- run, riding-school. Ustroń is an excellent base for trips into the Beskid Śląski mountains.
