Location

Kudowa lies at 400 m above sea level, in the western part of Kłodzka Valley, next to Stołowe Mountains National Park, and near the Polish-Czech border. The first spa facilities were set up as early as 1636. Kudowa's intensive development started in 1905, when the new Spa House was built and railway connections to the spa were ensured.

Artistic events

The 19th-century concert hall (Teatr pod Bląch from the 19th century) is the venue for the International Moniuszko Festival (June); other events include the Pre-school Children's Theatre Festival "We Are All Children", the fair "Goodbye to Summer", the fair "Kudowa Radio With a Smile" (July, August), Czech Film Review (May), Sports Stars Versus Stage Stars (July), Folk Feast in Pstrążna (August), Polish-Czech Christian Culture Days.

Tourism and sports

outdoor pool, sports field, horse-riding centre, tennis courts. Kudowa is a good base for trips to the Stołowe mountains, including Mt. Szczeliniec (919 m), where there is a nature reserve and fantastic rock formations.
