Renaissance castle of Silesian Piasts with arcaded courtyard. Old urban layout of the town’s centre with burghers’ houses, town hall and churches.

The Renaissance castle of the Piast princes was built in this strategically important urban center on the Oder River in 1544-1560. Build on the plan of a rectangle, it has a courtyard where many cultural events are held. The front building is especially richly decorated, including busts of the princes. The restored castle houses the Silesian Piasts' Museum with a collection of paintings, a historical and prehistoric exhibit, and an exhibit of artistic crafts and folk art.
