Dunajec Castle lies on the border between the Pieniny, a rocky mountain range in the Carpathians, and the regions of Podhale and Spisz. Today the castle's charm is augmented by its location on an artificial reservoir on the wild mountain river Dunajec, well-known for highlander raft trips. The castle once belonged to leading Hungarian magnate families. It was allegedly the place where the famous "Testament of the Inca" was found. Today the castle is home to the Art Historians' Association, which invites visitors to a museum of interiors, a hotel and an elegant restaurant.
