In the historical region of Warmia, in a town situated north of Olsztyn, is one of several castles build in the
second half of the 14th century, the residence of the bishops of Warmia. Made famous by the residence of the great
astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, today the castle houses the Warmia Museum, which owns a collection of Gothic and
Baroque artworks. Various events are held in the courtyard and the amphitheather, including Kaziuki-Wilniuki,
related to the culture of settlers who came here from Vilnius after 1945, and festivals of sung poetry.
